I've loved this place since my first visit decades ago. Nice presentation of the history of the island, as well as the mansion and outbuildings. Restoration work has REALLY come along over the years, but I like how there is still access to areas that were left "as is." It gives a better perspective on how far other areas have come. Good tourist site to visit for sure.
One of the best tourist sites of all upstate New York. Just a less then 20min boat ride to the place. They do have a restaurant on the island. And most of the remodeling is done. Fun fact Boldt Castle is a major landmark and tourist attraction in the Thousand Islands region of the U.S. state of New York. Open to guests seasonally between mid May and mid October. It is located on Heart Island in the Saint Lawrence River.
This is one of my favourite places to visit. I have been here a few times over the years, going back 40 years. It has been nice to follow the restoration of the castle. It has come a long way over the many years. I could not believe the transformation on my last visit. They are doing such a wonderful job. Hearing the love story of how the castle never gets old. If you get the chance this is a must see.
Fun place to go. Been coming here a good part of my life. It's so awesome to go every few years to see the progress they made on the upgrades. So beautifully put together
This is an unfinished and will never be totally restored castle due to the legal agreement made when ownership changed hands. Have visited the place off and on for many decades and it is so impressive the amount of restoration done since the time I was a child when nothing was done except lots of graffiti. Highly recommend a visit to the castle when exploring the Thousand Islands. Great place for photos and much of the site is open to freely walk around.
